Cefovecin is the first single-injection anti-infective for common bacterial skin infections (pyoderma, abscesses, and wounds) in cats and dogs. It is an antibiotic of the cephalosporin class used for infections caused by Pasturella multocida in cats and Streptococcus intermedius in dogs.
